The $2.5-million Intelligent Systems for Pipeline Infrastructure Reliability (ISPIR) project will develop sensing technologies integrated into a simple, flexible and cost-effective fibre optic backbone. These technologies will be used to detect corrosion and other faults such as leaks, pressure and temperature changes, cracks and buckling.
